Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
Mark Parrella, MD, is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and treats osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and other musculoskeletal conditions in the vicinity of Austin, Texas, at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas. In addition to providing general orthopedic care, Dr. Parrella specializes in orthopedic trauma care including fractures, derangements, and sprains at the center’s Austin, Texas, location. Orthopedic Associates also has offices in Round Rock, Cedar Park, La Grange, and Lockhart, Texas.
Prior to holding a certificate by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he established a solid foundation of expertise through medical education and training.
Dr. Parrella received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and a master’s of science degree in physiology and biophysics before earning his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship and residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, then served his fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.
Apart from practicing at the Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas, Dr. Parrella holds faculty positions at Texas A&M Health Science Center in Bryan, Texas; Texas State University in Round Rock, Texas; and AO North America in Wayne, Pennsylvania. He’s also a member and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
