A note from a satisfied patient!
Dr. Michael Putney
I am getting enough comments about the magic you did in my hip replacement, I thought you might want an update. You operated on me 5/3/18 with SuperPath on my left hip releasing me to cycle in 3 weeks. I was able to get in 2,600+ miles cycling in the second half of 2018. In September, my wife and I started doing Weight Watchers and this morning was down 25 pounds and comfortably back in 32” waist pants (approaching my college weight). My daughter signed us up to Bike Across Kansas in June, so now working hard to get strong enough to do this. I am now one of my strongest riders in my 2 cycling groups and both are referring to my bionic hip. I am now comfortable with bike rides in the 60 mile at 18 mph with the rolling hills in our area to give you an idea of my fitness level.
Pain - none in the hip since the surgery. Once incision healed that was the only irritation.
Range of motion - this was so bad before the surgery, I could barely put on my own socks. I almost have the same range of motion now with the left hip as I do with the right hip. My yoga is really helping me with this.
I just felt like writing this note to give you an update on my status this morning. Nothing you need to do, just giving you feedback on your work and impact it has had.
