Ryan Taylor, MD
Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
Dr. Ryan Taylor is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of traumatic orthopedic injuries of the upper and lower extremities. He is highly trained in both the surgical and nonsurgical management of long bone fractures, periarticular fractures, fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum, periprosthetic fractures, nonunions, malunions, and infections.
Dr. Taylor was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas where he attended Central Catholic High School. He then received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he majored in biophysical chemistry and psychology. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and subsequently completed a five-year orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania. There he served as an administrative chief resident and received the DeForest Willard Award for the most outstanding chief resident. After residency, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where he helped to cover one of the busiest trauma centers in the world.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and AO Trauma North America. In addition, he has published multiple peer reviewed papers, abstracts, and book chapters focused on the care of the orthopedic trauma patient. Dr. Taylor lives in Round Rock with his wife and three young sons and enjoys hiking, biking, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family.
